The first step of the Heat Press unit was to create a design in my notebook. I made two logos that I could put on my shirt ensuring that four colors could be used.
This logo was created on Illustrator and It went on the front of the shirt.
Each part of the design on Illustrator had to be individually cut out. Using Cutting Master 4 I was able to make the logos four different colors.
Vinyl cutter with grey vinyl.
Vinyl cutter with green vinyl for the second logo.
After weeding I applied the three colors for the first logo onto the shirt. Then I pushed the heat press down onto the shirt so the vinyl could be transferred.
This is the front view of the final product.

This logo was also created on Illustrator and it went on the back of the shirt.
Vinyl cutter with red vinyl.
Vinyl cutter with blue vinyl.
After the machine cut out the designs, I had to weed the colored material from the clear backing for each of the four vinyl pieces.
Then I did the same with a single color for the second logo.
This is the back view of the final product.

What I learned:
During this Heat Press unit I learned many things and became more familiar with tools I've used before. In the past, I have used Illustrator so designing was very simple. Also I have used the vinyl cutter so It was mostly straight forward. Many things I knew how to do yet, I learned how to group singular pieces on Illustrator so that different vinyl colors could be used. Furthermore, I got to experience how the heat press vinyl was different than just the regular vinyl. Still, both are very satisfying to weed. Overall, this unit allowed me to learn a new machine which was the heat press. It was difficult at first because I didn't push it down all the way, but after I learned and I was able to do the second logo much more efficiently.
